Rails are steel bars that have been hot rolled into a rail profile. They are used as railroad tracks for other steel-wheeled vehicles and overhead cranes. Rails are hot rolled from continuously cast blooms or rounds having the appropriate cross-section for the rails to be produced. They can also be rolled from near-net shape continuous cast rails, which saves time, energy, and cost by minimizing the processing needed to get the rail to its final shape.
ASCE 80 rails are mainly used as crane rails, underground mining rails, workshops, ports, railways, etc.
